THE WIND HAD A SECRET
“The Wind had a Secret” brings together the magical mystery of a secret with the fun and intrigue of the children’s game “Telephone.” Whispered first by the Wind (who has kept the secret for ever so long) to the moon, and then whispered by the moon to a star, the secret is passed by a succession of characters one to another until at last the secret is whispered into the reader’s ear as well. The secret, which can also be sung to the tune of “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star,” is a message of comfort in uncertain times. The illustrations, done in the Swedish art form of “Kurbits,” lend a dream-like quality of myth and mystery which enhances the story’sfeeling of intimacy and wonder.
